[Game 20] Epilogue

Maon leads the way back towards civilization—somehow making his way easily back out through the woods, and you know, there's some things you just don't ask about.

It's a little longer walk back than it was getting there—you'd ended up popping out in a slightly different location. The sun isn't quite up enough to be causing any adverse side effects, and somehow as you walk, you find any fatigue or pain or chill drifting away, leaving you feeling rejuvinated rather than exhausted. The really happy archangel might be partially to blame for that.

The cottage soon comes into sight. Siùsaidh is sitting on the porch waiting, and Tristan's car is once again parked outside.

"Tis about time ye got back," she says firmly. "Tis been three days, and I can only mind an incubus in my home fer so long. Step inside for breakfast, now, won't ye?"

Um, he said you guys were kind of at odds with Sariel right now but he wants you both to stay with us? Is that what you mean?

[goes redder and nods]

You can say no too.

I'd love to have you around.

Why not? I don't . . . um. I don't have anything against demons on principle.

Don't you want to, um. Honeymoon?

Um. There's, doors?

There are doors. I just meant, um, you just... came back. Surely you want... to be surrounded by the people you know best instead of... also, here's this near stranger, and probably part of them is going to tell a demon prince gossip when asked... if asked.

Sariel and I don't really know each other, either.

But you're important to Kano. I'm not going to come back and take him away from his friends.

[innerdemon]

I've only been around a couple months. But, um. Thanks.

[the amount of love in that tone is simultaneously probably magnetic and somehow repulsive at the same time]

But anyway—it's about what you want, too.

[makes a face]

[clears his throat loudly, from behind them]

Oh I didn't do anything to the archangel though.

[stirring from his sleep with a little huff before drowsily pushing himself up off of Madison's lap, still sleepy eyed]

Oh, niichan came back.

Ah—Sariel . . .

Won't you sit down?

[stares at all three of them, before slowly lowering himself into a chair opposite them, like this is some sort of terrible inquisition]

Very well.

He if gets on here I can sleep on a literal bed of angels which is on my bucket list.

Ah. Madison asked to come stay with us. Is that okay with everyone?

He can reach high places much better than I can.
