The world seems to invert, turning itself inside out—there is a dragging pressure, then a flickering light. All the while, you hear a screeching, dissonant roar—

You're no longer in the basement. You're on the roof of a building, stars twinkling overhead. Ahead of you, you see a . . . giant birdcage . . . in which Lucia Bellcourt sits, cursing a blue streak. And standing between you and it is . . .

Mithos . . . Yggdrasil . . . and a giant shadowy snake wooooo.

Sssssso, thissss issss how it endssss?

It hisses at the flames in its mouth and snaps at you through them.

Most of those bounce off his scales, though one or two penetrate. It chases your movement, teeth snapping.

[what about bombarding it with fireballs with weapons hidden inside them? I'M STILL AIMING AT ITS MOUTH WHEN IT SNAPS AT ME. Also dodging and dashing around at top speed, ninjas are fast]

It hissses unpleasantly and snaps its mouth closed after the first few, wobbling a little. Its tail lunges at you instead, aiming to catch you in the opposite direction from your run and use your momentum against you.

[it's a hit, and then--CROWS, CROWS EVERYWHERE]

The snake is moving a bit more sluggishly as it tries to reorient itself.

[watching warily from his new spot opposite where he was before]

Finally, it notices you and lifts its tail, slower than before.

[I'm still pretty fast and throwing sharp objects at it again]

They're sinking in more this time; it sweeps its tail wide, aiming to hit you again, its tongue out and tasting the air.

[jumping out of the way of the tail, and throwing a few kunai at its tongue]

Its tongue is perforated, which just makes it scream again. And swear. In font size 5.
