You're no longer in the basement. You're on the roof of a building, stars twinkling overhead. Ahead of you, you see a . . . giant birdcage . . . in which Lucia Bellcourt sits, cursing a blue streak. And standing between you and it is . . .

Mithos . . . Yggdrasil . . . and a giant shadowy snake wooooo.

[only hesitates for a moment, then draws his sword]

Mithos cannot seem to see or hear you, slightly transparent.

The snake laughs a little.

[charging the snake is GO! trying to stab into it]

[turns releasing one hand from his sword and pulling his other one up to block]

"Yessss, you have such an excellent hisssstory." Its teeth clash against your blade -- and it starts to spew venom.

[makes a strangled noise of surprise and tries to duck out of the way]

It tosses your sword almost off the roof; it hangs there, dangling, and thrashes briefly against some invisible force.

[well while it is distracted I'm going to get my sword back!]

A tail swipe comes for you! That is a hell of a long way down to certain death if it hits...

[ugh fuck no, taking a firm stance and trying to slash through that tail]

The tail gets slices partway through -- and you are swept off the roof, dangling from your sword where it's embedded into the snake. What do?

[HANG ON FOR DEAR LIFE?! Also trying to leverage himself up using the sword to swing an arm around the tail]

The snake is rolling slowly, tail lifting into the air as if it hasn't even noticed you there and wants to hit someone else with it. You can hold onto the tail.

[holding onto the tail with one arm around it, pulls his sword out, then tries to stab it into the Snake a bit further up, trying to climb/crawl his way up its spine]

The snake is writhing and wailing, but you can make a slow and torturous way up, risking at any moment that it will roll over and crush you...

[well once they're back over the roof, he's pulling his sword out and stabbing down, aiming for where the snake's spine would be]

You can't slice through the full width of the body, but it sure feels like you're doing damage in there.
