And just as suddenly as everything had began, the demons are gone—all of them. Not a single crow feather remains. As if being sucked backwards out of a vacuum, sound and light flood into the room and the hallway, crashing down on you. You are back in the real world, with noise and physics and sunlight streaming in through the window.

You are also left with two bereft Bellcourt children, the older of which is suddenly doubling over in his wheelchair and shouting in anguish.

"See?!" David can't help but laugh a little, though.

". . . yeah, me too," David says quietly. "It's kind of broken, still, but—it's mine." He pauses. "Though I guess I—also have weird superhuman upgrades but I'd still . . . trade those just to be able to walk and see again."

Oh yeah, you can "talk" to Yuki. [there might be an edge of jealousy in his voice.] And then there was that map. Jeez, stop giving people the wrong idea.

I'd like it if you could walk and see too. We could go do stuff!

"I didn't expect you to show anybody. And I'm not giving anybody a wrong idea about anything."

David tilts his head. "Go do stuff?"

I only showed Yuki! Tristan was the one who went all "Oh your boyfriends here" at me without even seeing that map.

Yeah, like see a movie or go to an arcade!

David, for some reason, blushes again. "Ugh, Tristan doesn't know anything!"

". . . I could probably still kick your ass at an arcade."

"No, he hasn't been bugging me about it, but he's a goddamn incubus. All he thinks about is sex." Pause. "And occasionally Apple products."

David smirks a little in return. (It's only your imagination if you get a glimpse of fangs). "You're on. Man, haven't you ever heard Pinball Wizard?"
