"I can get one of the demons to drive us most of the way," says David, as their group splits off from the others. "Unfortunately," he adds dryly, "and for obvious reasons, I can't drive us."

"All I want is that necklace," Grey says, eyes fixed on him evenly. "I'll erase all the evidence that you were ever here, and tell you exactly what's in these papers, in return. Otherwise, I will make sure I take you down with me."

Eh... I'm sorry, but if that's the way it has to be... Then, you have to make the choices you believe in.

[Slightly pale and trembling, but moving to step away.]

"Without the input of any of your friends?" Grey arches an eyebrow. "How selfish."

[Turns and bows slightly.]

Pardon me, but I am selfish. I think you are as well. Um, I may not be talented or smart or strong, but I can still tell you're bluffing. Uh....

[Looks apologetic for being so rude.] Using that kind of tactic to scare me.... it won't work. You'll lose too, after all.

Grey adjusts his glasses. "I stand to lose either way, yes. What will become of your Bellcourts were I to demonstrate your involvement in—" He gestures to the room. "This?"

[ O snap just noticing this, coming over to place a hand firmly on Mikado's shoulder! And half muttering to himself: ]

Let's not shut off negotiations just yet. No offense Shark, but even if you call him on the bluff you don't wanna risk it with a demon. Or be dragged through Hell. Literally. I've been there.

The question is why he wants that necklace when I think I overheard it's something to get in trouble over. He knows why we want that info, after all.

[Gruesome dead body kind of forgotten now that demons are pissing him off... Not pulling away from Kazuki though, but just looking at Grey.]

I don't know what would happen. But I gave my answer. Please do not be so persistent. Rather, we still have a bit of time to find a way to cooperate on terms we can agree to.

How about coming with us? We can definitely make something worth your while back where we're going.

"Something that's worth my while is a bit vague." Grey points out.

[ Huffs, frustrated! ]

At the very least, something around the same level as the charm! Though seriously Mikado, it's a necklace that does damage to demonic or dark shit, he's not gonna come after us with it. And we really don't want the Crow to know we've been here.

Grey holds up the papers he's holding. "I'd say this is pretty valuable. Especially if you're looking for information on Disolel."

Mr. Grey, this isn't worth taking yourself down as well, we both know it's a bluff and you are now wasting our time. If those papers can help clear everyone's name, there is very little point in you risking your reputation to produce them, when we could do as much.

Besides, Fon's already seen them and he has something like a photographic memory, right?

Grey takes a step closer, looking a little more irritated, now—there's a sense of presence from him that there wasn't before.

"I'm doing you a favor," he says, voice calm nonetheless. "You essentially have two options right now, which I'm not sure you're aware of—either, you hand over that amulet and I not only allow you to escape, but I give you this information and cover your tracks—or, you stay here, are caught by the Crow, and I have significant evidence to prove that you and the Bellcourts are to be implicated with not only the crime of significantly tampering with evidence and breaking and entering, but also the murder of the Duke. Which do you choose?"
