[Game 11] Investigation Team (David's)

"I can get one of the demons to drive us most of the way," says David, as their group splits off from the others. "Unfortunately," he adds dryly, "and for obvious reasons, I can't drive us."

I know. Who knows, maybe staying's possible after this?

[ Distracted a little from the safe atm!! Though he does glance towards it, naturally curious. ]

David pulls a couple things out, then closes it, dropping them aside and reaching up to tug Kazuki down closer to him.

"I would like that . . ."

[ Kneels down, then! And looks at David seriously, considering. ]

David...

". . . what?"

[ There's a lot he wants to say! About his connections he has with other people, and that new peaceful life, and that David's much older and changed than when they first met and Kazuki's grown so little in comparison, but. There's a lot of reasons why those aren't worth saying either, and there are possible solutions, and he knows it. So that really leaves one thing. ]

... I'm getting a little sick of technically only been dating you for like, a week! I'll try.

"We can talk about it later . . ." David says hesitantly.

If you want! I still love you though, so you still have to deal with it.

"I love you," David blurts. "I just—this is getting ridiculous? You have a life? That isn't here? I mean—"

I know! And so do you. Then you still spend the last year and a half being my boyfriend anyway. So... of course it's ridiculous! I come back and see you walking around and taller and probably in college or running your Dad's business successfully or whatever, I definitely know it's ridiculous more than anyone!

David shifts back a little, leaning against the side of his bed.

". . . sometimes I'd think, this is stupid, I can't keep waiting for you forever. I'm twenty-two . . ." He pauses. "But then, I realize . . . I kind of can? I don't mind waiting. I'll wait. If you want me to. If you don't feel tied down . . ."

I can't ask that, David. And not because I'd feel tied-down, it's because it's not right for me to ask that.

"You don't need to ask." David rubs his face with his hand. "I'm not interested in anybody else."

[ Augh tearing up, and being totally open about it ]

I know! I'm... sorry I'm a really shitty person to be interested in.

"What—no!" David grabs his wrist. "I'm not saying that at all! I don't think that at all . . ."

It's true, though! I'm don't make room for you in my life, even though you do for me! How bad is that?!

"You—don't really have a choice?"

I do! That's why I want to try, okay. I don't... just want to have it get more and more ridiculous! I can't have you wait for me, it'd... go against everything I died for in the first place, David!

David makes a startled noise.

[ ... scrubs his face, and looks up a little more collected-- though still upset. ]

Okay? I can't have people who love me do that for me!

David reaches up and thumbs Kazuki's cheek, lightly. ". . . I'll do what I want," he says simply. "It's my choice. I'll work to make it better for myself if it's something you want to work towards, but . . . this is what I want."

[ His breath catches a little at that, and he smiles! Eyes still wet from a few tears, but. ]

You're so difficult!

"Bellcourt," David points out dryly.

As if there was actually any doubt.

[ Leaning in to kiss David, though only brushing his lips against David's lightly. ]

Our whole relationship might just be full of "let's see what happens", you know?

"Is that a problem?"

Maybe it'll surprise you, but I'd like to actually go steady instead of all these ups and downs forever. I'd like just to be here. With you. But... it isn't a problem, if that's what it comes down to.
