The next day, Lucia invites everyone into the main room... "Hey everybody! After all this sitting around and thinking I thought everyone might want to get out and have some fun! Which is to say, laser tag! Let's all go around and harmlessly shoot each other in the dark for a bit, it's a great time also I have never got to do it before because I have no friends."

She says it totally deadpan and jerks a thumb to the door.

"Or if people want to stay home and eat and rest up sure, that's fine. Some of you are looking pretty tired. If you're having trouble sleeping, I totally have drugs that will konk you right out!"

[OOC: I will be putting up a top level comment for everyone to thread running around and shooting each other while glowing bizarrely under a blacklight if they want, and people can also comment to the main post if they want to stay back, talk to NPCs, etc (just let us know if you want anyone in particular). In fact, you can comment in both places if you want and just assume one happened before or after the other!

We will also be having a couple of small plot hook events going up at whatever times through the rest of tonight and tomorrow, but thread in those at your leisure, there is no time demand. Coming late, leaving early, w/e w/e as you see fit, picking up and backthreading and timespace bending all encouraged.]

"Huh . . ." David isn't in his wheelchair in dreamspace, but he's not really humanaoid, either. Shadows curl around him, and his eyes are bright yellow—but he looks pretty relaxed.

[Yuki's dressed in a white shirt, white pants, and white socks without shoes. And his collar's still popped, of course. It's nnot too different from usual really, except for some difference in his posture- it's more open and relaxed, more confident here.]

"I like it," David admits, quietly.

[rocks back and forth onto the balls of his feet, the void darkening into a twilight as the square lights turn bright blue]

Thanks. Me and Ruka sometimes dream like this together, and I can make other people dream about it if I want to talk to them while they're asleep.

"Sometimes I think I'm still more comfortable not being in my real body. I feel . . . a little trapped sometimes."

That's understandable... normal humans can't do things like this.

David shrugs. "I've wanted for a long time to just be a normal human being again," he says. "More than anything else."

That's understandable too. Different circumstances for me though, of course.

David glances up at that, quiet.

[Yuki doesn't seem to notice them. Or he's ignoring them, either or.]

But even if we can't get to be totally normal, we're still alive and we have our friends. That's good too.

"I don't know if I want to be normal anymore," David says hesitantly.

If we were normal, we couldn't talk like this anymore.

"Yeah. I'd miss that."

I don't know what I would do if I lost my link to Ruka... ah. That reminds me...

"Ah?"

Me and Kazuki... in his last memory he found out that we're AI. Our world is a simulation.

David blinks, eyes widening. ". . . you're kidding."

[telepathetically]

I'm not.

[the lights flicker and swirl, agitated]

"Is that—. . . okay? I mean—"

[telepathetically]

I don't like it, but... yes? I mean, the admins won't mess with us anymore....

The shadows around David are swaying back and forth, stretching a little more than before. ". . . will you go back?"

[telepathetically]

[Yuki's eyes flash yellow, a spiked flowery symbol appearing in the pupil]

I'm never going back to Boudo.

". . . where will you go?" David doesn't comment on the eyes, but he's watching them carefully.
