And just as suddenly as everything had began, the demons are gone—all of them. Not a single crow feather remains. As if being sucked backwards out of a vacuum, sound and light flood into the room and the hallway, crashing down on you. You are back in the real world, with noise and physics and sunlight streaming in through the window.

You are also left with two bereft Bellcourt children, the older of which is suddenly doubling over in his wheelchair and shouting in anguish.

Your father didn't want to let David go.

[arsgoetia]

"Dad..." her face kind of falls.

"Oh... yeah, he'd put David first, huh..."

[delivoreance]

...he said... he wouldn't let either of his children go to hell when he could.

[arsgoetia]

"Really...?" She seems a little shaky. "But I'm the one who... did all those things."

[delivoreance]

She scrubs at her face.

Lucia...

[arsgoetia]

"I'll... have to help him," Lucia mumbles.

[delivoreance]

...there's a little time before you can try... maybe there's something.

"We'll ... figure out something," she says, and uncertainly reaches for her. "Sera?"

[...goes to her, also hesitant]

[arsgoetia]

"I'm a bad person," she says. "I've always been one, I don't know how not to -- but I'm sorry I made you cry..."

[delivoreance]

...I'm not a very good person either... i-it's okay.

[arsgoetia]

She says, helplessly, "I'm really untrustworthy! Is that really okay?"

[delivoreance]

I said, it's okay...

I understand... you not trusting me... we're very different people, with different goals. But can we still be friends?

[arsgoetia]

"Do you want to be...?" She seems pretty unsure of this, really.

[delivoreance]

...if you do...

[arsgoetia]

"Yes, obviously," she says. "but I'll hurt you again."

[delivoreance]

...probably, yes. I might hurt you, too.

[arsgoetia]

She shrugs awkwardly, one-shouldered.

[delivoreance]

...are you all right with that?

[arsgoetia]

"I don't know," she says. "I think so?? I don't -- sometimes I just -- but I just don't understand people and... I'll try."
